The Offshort

A do-it-yourself film festival  for short film specialists in Northern France.

 

The Offshort is an innovative film festival, where all film-makers are welcome to show their work. If you write, direct, produce or distribute short films, this is the place to be.

 

Here’s how it works : you bring your own cinema with you.  It could be a tent, a caravan, a camper van, a bus, a yourt, a collapsible garden shed, a van, a circus tent, a gypsy van, what you will.

 

Any structure which can be set up and taken down again, capable of accommodating 1 to 10 filmviewers, is eligible for this festival.

 

There is no size limit. You are responsible for your own film space. If you have enough cash, you could even consider bribing the owners of local houses, garages and shops to rent you space for the weekend...

 

 

The organisers expect the following to participate, amongst others: writers, directors, producers, distributors of shorts, associations, researchers, experimental video artists, digital wizards, crazy computer geniuses, demosceners, visual jockeys (VJ), clippers, image jugglers, video freaks and film buffs of all kinds…

 

 

Subjects welcomed include fictional scripts, documentaries, animated films, clips, experimental films, art videos and other unidentified screened objects.

 

Projection methods : video, super 8mm, 8mm, 9.5mm, 16mm, 35mm and videoprojection onto a television or a computer screen.

 

You can come alone with your own collapsible space, or organise a shared space with others.

We supply :
